"Commissioning Service" at Hartland Baptist

On Sunday, 26th of November, Pastor Ellis and our church family at Hartland did a "commissioning service" for us. It was a very thoughtful and encouraging service to Joel and I. We really appreciated having Pastor Ellis and three of the deacons pray for us at the end. I did very well, almost, in regards to crying ... or at least I was doing quite well until Pastor Ellis challenged us with answering the following question:

Do you acknowledge a Divine calling and an inner impelling to leave your loved ones and friends and go forth as an ambassador of Christ to those who know Him not?

I think its obvious why, but I was also thinking about heading back to my parents and having to say goodbye to them in a couple days. So, the service went well and Joel and I prepared to leave the following morning for the airport to fly back to Vancouver and then on to Victoria. Our flight was supposed to leave at 6:00am Monday morning and we were supposed to be back at the Victoria airport at 8:30am ... Posted by Picasa
