Ladies Craft Outreach

On Nov. 25th we had our "Be Creative this Christmas..." Ladies Craft evening. Approx. 60 women attended! We held the event at Douglas Community School where we have our church services are held on Sundays. The decorating team did an amazing job. The place looked gorgeous, very Christmasy with a beautiful tree and candles lit all over the room. The desserts that appeared that night were plentiful and yummy :0) It was a great "kick off" to the festive holiday season.

For our craft, we made Christmas cards. We had materials for each person to make 8 different Christmas card projects, but we really only had time for them to make 3 or 4 and then take supplies home with them to make the other ones. It seemed to go really well. There were many ladies who really enjoyed using the stamps and creating the cards. Ireland is starting to get some of the supplies in various hobby and craft shops which is fantastic! I have a feeling that Stampin' Up! and Close to my Heart distributors would do very well over here with parties, etc. "Demonstrating" the cards in front of 60 women was quite a different experience for me than teaching 25-30 school age children ... they were very nice to me though and no one threw anything at me (ha ha).

As you can see, these ladies' were intent on their tasks! At the end of the evening, while many of us were still visiting and finishing our desserts ... there we some "die-hards" still stamping their cards by candlelight :0) I really enjoyed the night and the preparation was well worth it to see so many women attend and enjoy themselves. We are already planning for next year and wondering how many more women we could fit in the room!?

An interloper! Actually Joel was "conscripted" at the last minute to run the sound, powerpoint and other "technical" aspects of the evening. You can see how he really "roughed" it that night. Here he is playing a game on my mobile while eating the endless supply of pretzels, desserts, and drinking the coffee that the ladies in the kitchen kept serving him all evening. I'm sure he already has plans for next year about what to "rig" so that his "services" are required again ...
