Douglas Baptist Church Picnic

Yesterday, DBC had a church picnic out at the Kingston's farm. Before going out there, we had our church service where Joel was speaking on "Are we people-pleasers?" (Galatians 1:10-12). Mark and Amy (pictured above) fed Emma and looked after her during the service. It was strange for me not having a baby to burp and hold! It was also nice though, to be able to take in the message ... especially since my hubby was speaking :0) He did a great job, and I was really challenged by what he said, especially Galatians 1:10 ... "Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."

Here is a rare picture of me with Emma ... I usually prefer to be behind the camera!

We went down to the beach where several people played soccer, others went for a swim (not us Carlaws!), we walked and talked, found a crab (Carolyn and Nathan), and generally enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship with one another. Emma stayed at the house with several ladies taking great care of her ... in fact, she slept through almost all of the picnic ... except when feeding of course :0)

My smiley girl after we came home from the picnic ... yup, she's a "keeper" :0) Oh, by the way, if you want to see more pictures of Emma ... you can check out my profile on facebook (www.facebook.com): "Christine Carlaw". All the pictures we have taken of her are uploaded there now.
