We prayed for it, joked about it, and yet ... they built it ... and we all came!! This is the first Tim Hortons cafe (that we know of) in Cork, Ireland! It is in the Business Park in Little Island, only about 15 minutes drive from Douglas.
Here is the "Tim Hortons Story" displayed on the wall. Outside is a sign advertising Tim Hortons as having "A taste so big it can only come from Canada" :0)
Carolyn and I organized to have Joel, Emma, Gramma & Granpops & I meet Bryce, Carolyn, Nathan & Abi there on Monday morning. Carolyn and I had spotted the cafe the night before and valiantly kept the secret from the guys until arriving there the next day. I had to get Joel out of bed in order to get there in time to meet them, and he told me "This better be good or you're in big trouble!" Once we got there and he realized it wasn't just a Tim Horton's coffee machine (like in the other Spar stores) his eyes lit up and he murmured "This is a great surprise!" (Score 1 for me!)
All of us drinking coffee from REAL Timmy's china mugs and eating donuts from REAL Timmy's china plates ... Who knew that Emma's first Tim Horton's experience would be in IRELAND?! :0)

I am sooooooooooooo excited for you guys!!! i have to admit that this is right up there in excitement with emma's birth! i can't believe it - Tim Horton's in Ireland. What else could be so exciting and special?
Wow!!! What an exciting thing to blog about!! Thanks! I'm so happy for you, but slightly afraid of what's next for Ireland! If you start getting "Hockey Night in Canada" we may never ever see you again. With Timmy's AND Hockey there would be no reason for the guys to come back for a visit!!

Wow!! I can't believe there's a Tim Horton's in Cark!! I've got to try it when I visit at Christmas! Except I'll probably get to go anyway at Thanksgiving when I'm in Calgary.... :)
