Arriving in Canada
In May, last year, we travelled to Canada for home assignment. We flew into Vancouver, and Joel's brother Mike collected us at the airport.
Emma was very excited about seeing her Uncle Mike!
Caitlin meets her cousin Laura for the first time.
First day in Canada
Our family "tradition" for our first day in Canada is to go to Superstore and pick one "treat" we have missed having. Emma chose goldfish crackers and the two Barbies she chose to buy with some of her birthday money.
Caitlin also "chose" goldfish crackers and I think we got her the sunglasses too!
Our next "tradition" is to go to Tim Horton's for lunch!
Caitlin's first experience at Tim Horton's ... and definitely not her last!
Joel's favourite part of our first day back in Canada!
Mine too!
Laura taught Emma how to blow bubbles. When we landed in Vancouver, they were experiencing record breaking temperatures for May. Mummy had to dig through the suitcases to find our summer clothes!
Cousin Stephanie did some colouring with Emma. She had been given a colouring book of masks for her birthday from some neighbour girls ... (another picture coming up down below)
The face of "jet lag" on the first day!
Uncle Mike and Auntie Belinda have a primary school with a park that is very close to where they live.
Wheee!
Sisters slide.

When cousin Stephen got home from work, he helped Emma to make big bubbles!
Caitlin watched from the window with Stephanie and Laura.
Then she had some great cuddles with Auntie B!

Time with Family
We were blessed to spend our first few days in Canada with family. Caitlin learned loads of new things ...
Learning to colour with Uncle Mike.
Playing piano with Mummy's Auntie Helen.
Learning to ride a tricycle with Auntie B and Laura.
Blowing bubbles with Uncle Mike & Auntie B.
Balloon Birthday!
We even had another birthday party for Emma when Uncle Kim and Auntie Colleen came to visit. Auntie Colleen brought a package of balloons ...
Of course, first we had to blow up the balloons ...
Emma helped.
Ready!
Set!
Go!
This is a "before" picture ... shortly after, the balloon party came to an end after an unfortunate injury to Uncle Mike :-(
Stamping with Auntie Colleen was much safer.
Doing jigsaws too.
Family Dinner at White Spot
That night we all went out for dinner to White Spot. Jet lag and children and dining in public restaurants ... aah good times :-)
Always good to have a thumb!
The queen of thumb sucking herself ;-)

First pirate pack! And a yummy grilled cheese.
The thumb is out when there is a pirate pack to explore.
Goodbye cuddles with Uncle Kim and Auntie Colleen.
Auntie Colleen and Emma ... two peas in a pod :-)
Time to Travel
Unfortunately the fun family times had to come to end, and the travel had to begin.
Ready to roll.
And ready to sleep!
