April, 2014
In April, it was time for M.C.C. (Munster Christian Camps) Easter Camp.
Christine was in charge of crafts.
Caitlin was thrilled to be involved too ... under the watchful eye of our friend Luana, of course! ;-)
I'm pretty sure the girls' favourite day was the afternoon the campers went out to the beach.
One of the campers even made them into "kitty cats", with the help of her black eyeliner pencil!
This is Caitlin's friend Tali, her mummy & daddy (Shane & Luana), and her baby brother (Simeon) are on our team for Passage West.
The girls had a fab time playing in the sand, and in a big "puddle" they found.
Caitlin loved getting right into the sand and mud ... Tali, not so much! :-)
Lunch time! Shane is at the top with Tali, Luana is on the left, and that is Fiona, one of the camp officers with our girls.
Fiona with the "kitty cats".
Shane & Tali.
Simeon!
After camp, we went to Banna for a quick family holiday. The girls were thrilled that their Easter baskets were packed too!
We went to a new place. It was fantastic! Check out the fully fenced in playground for all the guests to use!
Emma quite liked the slide!
Thrilled with herself!
Caitlin found a shorter slide to try.
Not quite as thrilled though!
The girls having their lunch outside our holiday house.
Getting ready for the Easter egg hunt.
Caitlin found her first one!
Team work!
All the eggs found!
We went to Dingle to the Aquarium. We were very impressed with it. It's the best one we have been to with the girls!
Caitlin loved running around looking into all the tanks.
Emma loved having her face painted.
Caitlin liked watching,
and playing in the play area.
Pure joy.
Making huge bubbles.
Emma was trying to blow them out.
Daddy showed her how its really done ;-)
Joel and his girls.
We also went for a little drive to see some of our favourite scenery.
We love this drive!
Stunning views right along the road.
Our favourite is "Old Ireland" countryside views with the stone walls.
Caitlin preferred to snooze her way through the drive.
Emma was awake though :-)
We are blessed to have the beauty of God's creation around us!
On the 29th of April, it was Emma's birthday. Here she is opening her birthday card from Amma & Granpa and having a special pancake birthday breakfast by Daddy.
The birthday girl.
Now she is posing!
She wanted a picture of her new birthday flip flops!
Sisters.
And there they are again :-)
Her present ... a "big girl" bike with no stabilizers!
Caitlin ... the face!
She wanted a picture of her shoes too! Oh, there is the new carpet we put in the top room.
Someone gave us a Sylvanian house they didn't want, so we surprised Emma with it for her birthday!
Surprise!
Checking it out.
Closing it up.
We invited our friends and teammates over to celebrate with Emma. She loves Simeon!
So does Caitlin.
Emma with Tali.
Pizza party!
Sitting at our new patio set from Joel's mom and Bryce & Carolyn - Happy Housewarming ;-)
The cake.
Burning off the calories of the cake?
So the mums can enjoy their coffee!!
May, 2014
On the 3rd of May, we had Emma's birthday party with her school friends.
All the girls in her class were invited ...
... and 2 of the boys who live in Passage too.
The cupcakes ...
The cake ...
The door ...
The décor ... her theme? "Garden Girl" ;-)
Waiting for her guests to arrive.
The craft.
The games.
"Pass the parcel" is her favourite.
The party food before ...
The party helpers, Anne & Lais ....
The party food during ...
The party bags.
The party "crasher" and her special treat from Anne :-)
The cake.
The survivors of the party!
I love these girls!!
In May, we also had our first "BBQ" of the season ... and we had our friends the Batemans over. They used to be our "neighbours" down the hill ... now, they had to commute out to Passage West :-)
Joel and Emma battled over Mario Kart.
Whilst Ivor attempted to teach Caitlin the art of "swing ball" ;-)
She showed them how to watch a show ... I think it was "Tangled"??
May was also the month for our year end parties. The Explore Club and Club 252 (Sunday School) went to Rumley's Farm.
It was the first time we had been there, and we were impressed with the size of the place ... lots of walking!
There was a zip line too! Our nephew Nathan quite liked it ... with a push from Aaron (one of our Explore Club helpers)
See Saws.
Miniature Golf.
Go-Karts.
And a tractor ride.
Front.
Back.
On the move.
Yup, starting her early!
In May, there was also "SUNSHINE" ... so, as you do in Ireland, we brought out the paddling pool!
And we were able to have our Youth Club Year End Party as a BBQ outside!
Love our deck!
So glad we have such a fab big table!
Yummy!
Before.
The chef and his "helper".
Ah yes, the "water balloon toss"!
Ehm! Who gave this one a water balloon??
Water balloon "over and under".
Youth leader soaking?
Cupcakes ... of course!
Preparing for "Balloon Stomp"
The final showdown.
June, 2014
By the time June hits, most "regularly scheduled" ministry commitments have been wrapped up. Our children and youth clubs have had their year end parties already because most secondary students are preparing for exams, and primary students have all their year end activities on.
So, we were able to have our nephew Nathan over for a "craft day".
Emma received a few craft sets for her birthday, so she shared a painting one with Nathan.
They did a great job painting their vases.
Caitlin just did painting ;-)
Caitlin had her friend Tali over to play in the paddling pool (*Note another sunny day!)
We went to the beach, even in cloudy weather.
Digging in the sand and looks like Daddy got a little wet in the waves!
Even on cloudy days, the beach can be crowded.
This was a family picnic at Garryvoe Beach. I remember it being very cloudy and pretty chilly.
But, we still had fun :-)
Watching the waves is always fun.
So is digging in the sand.
I love this photo! See Emma shivering in the water??
Here is a closer look ;-)
And where did their legs go?
Finally, the last day of school!
Look at that gorgeous girl!
Off to Fota Wildlife Park to celebrate school being over!
Photo with Daddy and the baby giraffe!
Happy Days!
